Accountability post - December 2021

Handdrawn December cover page surrounded by fairy lights
My monthly accountability post to keep myself on track with my habits and resolutions!

Last month of the year! The biggest thing that happened is that I got my tubes tied!! With everything going on in Ohio right now it is such a relief to never have to worry again. Recovery went really well, the incisions are pretty much healed up by now, and I can't tell you how grateful I am for having this choice. With my chronic illness, mental health, genes, and just generally how I want to live my life -- the future seems very bright and safe3. :)

With that in mind I had a pretty calm month, hanging out with my neighbors and visiting the in-laws over Christmas. Of course we ended up getting Covid (probably, there aren't any tests available around us), so we are quarantining over New Year's and my birthday next week. We didn't have any plans anyway, and we're fine, so we're spending the time working on our hobbies and hiding from the rain. New Year's Eve was a Fast & the Furious Spa Night, so we ended the year well and relaxed! ;)

Plan 1 proper date

Every December I spend the day making a gingerbread house from scratch, and invite a friend that has never done it before. It's my favorite tradition! This year my partner joined us as well and we had such a fun day. I branched out from my normal little cottages and made a huge fort guarded by snails, and he freehanded the Seattle Space Needle. Go hiking once a month

Unfortunately no. I spent most of the month recovering from my surgery, and I had planned to go on New Year's Eve but got Covid. -.- But I think I get half a point from having the intention lol. I'm very excited for hiking in 2022!
