My monthly accountability post to keep myself on track with my habits and resolutions!

Work out 4 times a week

Week 1: The month started in the middle of the week, so 2 weight lifting sessions (but 4 total that week).
Week 2: Weight lifting x4
Week 3: Weight lifting x1, Skiing x3, Hiking x1 (vacation week!)
Week 4: Weight lifting x3, bodyweight x2
Week 5: Body weight x3 (I got a bit sick, probably from overdoing it lol, I never learn)
Me skiing in WV
Skiing in WV!

Journal before bed

15 out of 31 days. Not stellar, but being on vacation and being stressed out of my mind about the safety of the president-to-be made me abandon certain practices that ironically would have made me feel better, haha.

But, like I wrote in 3 things to do when your New Year's resolution fails, why is it a "failure" just because it wasn't achieved every day? In this case I still wrote in my journal 15 times, which is 15 times more than I would have otherwise!

Do monthly bookkeeping

Done!

Have monthly and weekly spreads in my bullet journal

Check!

Prepare for the week on Sundays

Check! Sometimes things get done on Mondays too, but that still counts! ;)

Explore new food cultures

  • Korean pancake - interesting, but we weren't big fans of it.
  • Korean soy-garlic friend chicken bites - so good! Great for sandwiches during the week.
  • Korean bibimbap - definitely adding this to my recipe book!

Stay on top of my inbox

Yes! I have a few emails I'm awaiting reply for, and one that I need to take action on, but apart from that it's all empty and caught up!

Plan more dates

I had my 30th birthday this month, and while I didn't get to have the big party I always imagined due to the pandemic it was still a really good day!

When my partner got off work he spent hours making a delicious chocolate cake and sous-vide steak, mashed potatoes, and the most amazing mushrooms EVER. Seriously, I would have traded my steak for more mushrooms.

I had gone to Party City earlier that day so I decorated the dining room and living room with teal streamers, balloons, and swirly things hanging from the ceiling fans. I also have a party light projector that finally came to use again!

After a nice dinner I opened my presents, we played drunken Scrabbles, and then we slow danced. <3

Go hiking once a month

Yup! I trudged through a snowy field in West Virginia and watched Rosco go from crazy zoomies to plopping down every thirty feet to rest, haha.

Write more - post at least once a month

Find a long-term therapist

I had my first session on the 4th, and I like her! I went with someone younger, around my age, because I just didn't click with the two older ladies I tried. We'll see how it goes, since the first session was mostly sharing my story etc., but she seems really nice, was horrified at the way I was treated by my summer therapist, and had a good set-up for our new relationship. I have my next session tonight!

Dance more

I actually started my 30s dancing! It was just a Tuesday night, and I was letting the dogs out before bed when a song I love came on so I turned it up loud and started dancing in the kitchen. After a while I saw that it was exactly midnight and officially my birthday! It just made me really happy to be starting my new decade this way -- having a dance party in my raindeer footie pyjamas. Like an adult. ;)

I also left the birthday decorations up over the weekend and turned on my party light machine, poured myself a few drinks, and had myself a blues party! I miss dancing with my friends SO MUCH but it does so much for my soul to dance on my own too!
