I've been thinking about things I want to be better at in 2021, and keeping up with my inbox is definitely one of them! I had done a major decluttering early this year, and was doing pretty well with it. But then someone sold my info early this fall and I got BOMBARDED with junk mail every day! Like, 50 a day. Bastards. . . . So it quickly got unmanageable for me, especially since I was overwhelmed with information and news fatigue. While I've been scanning my emails for important things, I've just let the number of unread and unsorted emails climb to well over 2,000. Until today! About an hour of unsubscribing, blocking, and moving folders later it's all done! Empty! It definitely wasn't as bad as last time when I think there were over 10,000 emails to my partners absolute horror. ;) Sometimes we really need to start over with a clean slate, and just do the work to get there. Whether it's a messy closet, junk drawer, or your Google docs folder -- think of the lack of stress you will feel when you're done, and how easy it will be to maintain. And just get started. :)
