Hello, Ohio! (My new home!)

Sitting in our crappy long-term hotel room, things are ironically pretty good!

Two months ago my bf got an amazing job here in Ohio, and since then it's been a whirlwind. He was gone within two weeks and I've spent my time packing, cleaning, and saying goodbye to my friends.

Even though I've cried a lot about leaving my wonderful friends and dance group I'm so excited for this move! Virginia is just way too hot and humid for me -- if you can't even be outside in the summer because it's too damn hot, then what's the point?

After five weeks apart he flew down and we spent the weekend loading our things into U-Boxes and attending our friends' wedding. It was a weird mix of sweating in workout clothes and being super fancy in my bridesmaid dress with my hair professionally done, but we had a great time and got it all done! (And the bride was so beautiful. We were there for their first official date, so it was really special seeing them get married. <3 )

Tuesday was spent driving and at 8pm we found ourselves here. A bathroom door that doesn't close, two stove burners with little-to-none counter space, and neighbors that are loud and usually smoking weed. But it's so great to be together again I couldn't care less! We're in a new exciting city, in the process of closing on a house (if all goes well!), and it's a whole new adventure.

I used to move around so much, only staying places three months to a year, so being in Virginia for almost three and a half years was a big change. While I really enjoyed putting down roots and creating solid friendships, the place wasn't for me and I was stagnating a bit. I love discovering a new place to live and this time I get to do it with a person I love! In pleasant temperatures! ;)

That's it for my update. I know I've been gone for a while, but I had to focus on the "real world" for a bit. Now, with no job yet and with at times passable internet, I don't really have an excuse to not write, do I? ;)

Edit: it took several hours and tries to publish this post. I guess I do have excuses! xD
