I get a very physical response to anxiety -- along with raised body temperature and increased heartrate, I also get a big knot in my stomach. Luckily, I found a great little cheap way to combat both the mental and physical anxiety symptoms -- mint & lavender tea!
When I found an antique teapot in the thrift store, I started making a batch of tea in the morning, refilling at lunch, to sip throughout the day. I am lucky enough to have a garden where I can get fresh herbs, and with some help of my trusty dehydrator I now have a growing supply of organic homemade tea! Of course store-bought works just as well, but there is something special about growing it yourself. If you have space somewhere for two flower pots you can do it too, gardening is coincidentally also great for anxiety and general mental health! Soothing body & mind
Anyway, my point is -- both peppermint and lavender have soothing properties, helping you calm down and relax. Mint is also good for calming down stomachs, which I learned a while ago when I got some weird painful bloating going on. After two cups of mint tea I could visually see the difference! And in my experience, it also helps with anxiety knots.
It is actually really good and refreshing cold as well, so you don't have to worry about gulping it all down while it's hot! This is a great beverage for the whole year.
