Well, halfway anyway. But how amazing is that!! Two months ago I fully believed we wouldn't be able to get vaccinated until late summer. But damn, I am so impressed with the vaccine roll-out! At least in Ohio, my friends in Virginia are still nowhere near being eligible, sadly.
They opened up for 16+ two days ago, and even though I didn't actually believe I would be able to find open slots for us I still sat on the Kroger's booking page and hit
"Sorry, we have to ask - are you a robot?"
"Please click the pictures with a bicycle to prove you're not a robot"
But after just half an hour or so I actually found appointments for both me and my partner just two days out!
I really recommend Kroger's btw, they were so efficient. We showed up, checked in, and even though my appointment wasn't until half an hour later they called me in right after my partner anyway because I was there and they're on this. They aren't even opening the pharmacy until 10am right now so they can dedicate the whole morning to vaccinating.
So now I'm sitting here with a slightly sore arm and a vaccination card that's too big to put in my wallet, feeling like maybe things will be alright with the world soon after all. I am a little bit worried that it will trigger the lyme disease in some way (that's why I haven't taken the flu shot since I got it), but hopefully it will be okay. This is definitely important enough to take the risk!
Update: that afternoon I got hit with fever and was basically in bed for two days lol. Another two days before I was recovered enough to take the dogs for a walk. They say the second dose is worse so I will probably take the day after off, haha.
