Every now and then I manage to get to a point where I'm so anxious or stressed out that my period skips a month, which naturally spikes my worry about being pregnant. And even though I know that this is more than 99% sure to not be the case (thank you, Skyla!), the worry about it makes my period even more MIA and I can only stop the cycle by taking a pregnancy test to find out once and for all. Usually it takes quite some time for me to accept defeat and go to the pharmacy, which leads to days and weeks of unnecessary worrying, but last time it happened I had foresight enough to buy a two-pack because I had finally learned that this will just keep happening to me. I've got to tell you, the fact that I could just go to my bathroom drawer and grab the test instead of driving somewhere, having to face the cashier with my haul of pregnancy test + chocolate ice cream, was a much better experience. It makes it so much worse when it becomes a whole thing! Of course the stick immediately showed the one blue line for "not pregnant." Yay! Even though I knew, even though it's happened so many times before, I still had to know. There's just no getting around it. So if you have similar problems, make sure to stock up on some tests so you can assure yourself as soon as possible next time and get on with your life! Knowing yourself and preparing for it can save your future self a lot of unnecessary anxiety.
